01 - Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners or lightly grease it.
02 - In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
03 - In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, then whisk in the whole milk, vegetable oil (or melted butter), and pure vanilla extract.
04 - Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently with a spatula until just combined; do not overmix.
05 - Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips, reserving a small quantity to sprinkle on top of the muffins.
06 - Divide the batter evenly among the prepared muffin cups. Sprinkle the reserved chocolate chips on top of each muffin.
07 - Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
08 - Allow the muffins to cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
